Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Verjer, made by Dark Island Designs LLC ("we", "us"). By using the app or this site, you agree to them.
The service
Verjer is a personal health-tracking app. Core tracking is free; some features (e.g., AI scan, cloud sync, family sharing) are paid. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Open-source license
The Verjer client is released under the GNU AGPL-3.0 license; the source is available at our repository. Your rights to the source code are governed by that license. These terms cover your use of our hosted service and paid features.
Accounts
No account is needed to track locally. An account is only required for optional cloud features. Keep your login secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
Subscriptions & billing
- Paid features are billed through our website via our payment processor (Stripe).
- Prices, billing period, and what's included are shown at checkout before you pay.
- You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the paid period. [State refund policy here.]
- We'll give notice before any price change to an existing subscription.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service — no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload, or abuse our servers, and no reselling access. You may self-host the open-source code under the AGPL instead.
Not medical advice
Verjer is for general wellness and information only and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition figures and ingredient assessments may be incomplete or inaccurate. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions. You use the app at your own risk.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dark Island Designs LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. [Adjust to your jurisdiction.]
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Nebraska], USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Confirm with counsel.]
